Monthly Meeting Minutes

Meeting Minutes

Date: October 8, 2025

Location: United Federated Church of Norfolk

Time: Start Time 1800 –End Time 1940


1. Call to Order

  

The meeting was called to order at 1830 by Commander Frank Zolli The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and the Preamble to the Legion Constitution was recited by the members.

  

2. Roll Call

  

Tom Thompson, Bob Cook, Tom Caufield, Ed Jiminuchi, Brad McCreeddy, Frank Zolli, Tom Sharkey, Jay Kenney, Bill Conklin, Richard Schmidt, Jose Salgado

 

3. Reading and Approval of Previous Minutes

 

The minutes from the previous meeting were read by the Temporary Adjutant and approved as read/corrected. Motion by Ed Jiminuchi 2nd Brad McCreedy.

  

4. Financial Report

  

The Finance Officer presented the monthly financial report, including the current balance, Poker nights receipts, overall income, and expenditures. A motion was made Tom Thompson and seconded by Bob Cook to approve the financial report as presented. The motion carried.

 

5. Committee Reports

  

Post History

Tom Thompson volunteered with Franklin post 75 to train with their color guard, in preparation for our own.

Signage committee Frank Zolli and Tom Sharkey

Signage for town roadside from legion priced at 4309 TO $399 a peace, 4 would be needed. Further discussion is needed.

Dinner Committee Al Bozza, Jim Schweitzer, Theresa Fernald, Tom Sharkey.

Jim S has been hospitalized and needs to be relieved of dinner RSVP.

Al B states we are prepared to this point, final preparations for the 80th dinner will be discussed at the October 14th meeting. Handouts provided to attendees of meeting.

Membership 

Frank Zolli handed out membership cards.

If you are billed, please pay the invoice.

Entertainment

Army Navy Game December 13th at Firehouse or Eagle Brook reserved room, suggested by Tom Thompson and Thresa Fernald. Great for family to get together.

List of outings to go to

1 Connecticut Air and Space 

2 New England Air Museum

3 American heritage museum

4 Seabee Museum and Memorial Park

5 US naval shipbuilding museum

6 Battleship Cove

7 US constitution 

  

6. New Business

  

Motion to give $500 each 4 services emergency funds one time during Government Shutdown. Tabled to next meeting. 

  

7. Adjournment

  

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1940. The next meeting will be held on November 8th at Federated Church.
